1. So (4:22)
Our journey begins. Those close see hope in our future travels that have faded in theirs. Some others wonder what kind of path we may have been introduced to and others feel that only a journey of little interest lay before us. Even with the experience they have, they still cannot predict everything we will see.
2. Never too (4:22)
Oh to be near the beginning without the weight of the responsibility of being the guide of our own journey. So many paths open up before us. It makes it difficult to decide which path to take. Even with the advice offered from more seasoned travellers, we still struggle. The importance of such a decision is lost on us.
3. From here (5:30)
Sometimes our journey takes us to unexpected and unfamiliar places. Travelling to other climates. Feeling the rush of heat as we disembark and enter into the sights, sounds and tastes of a temporary distraction from our familiar routine.
4. Heaven is so (4:45)
Not only do our surroundings change throughout our journey. We do too. Full of certainty and purpose, we can suddenly be thrust into drastic change that leaves us wondering what to do next and which path to take. It's as if our decision making has become compromised.
5. Not so (5:56)
Having travelled for what seems some time now. We are now at the helm of our own vessel. Maybe not as much fun as we first thought it was all that distance ago. Although the mist has cleared somewhat, we are still looking and thinking "Surely there must be more than what we know".
6. In the distance (5:32)
Sending messages and objects beyond in the hope of making contact with those not of this world. Hoping they might decipher the complex methods of introduction we have used. In the end we may find that all we need to do to increase our chances of being recognised as existent is to broadcast something as simple as alternating tones. Just saying "Hello".
7. Very (4:46)
Although our journey takes us in one direction, our minds can take us back to where we have been before in reminiscence. or through our imagination from the experiences of others. Maybe to some point in the early 1980's where positivity and hope for the future was evident in the expressions of many.
8. Places (4:29)
Then a decade further on into the 1990's where a change in sentiment could be felt worldwide. Those that cared, cared too much and those that didn't, lost themselves in joyous repetition in order to keep them away from knowing that change was inevitable. Trying to hold what cannot be held.
9. They told me it's (4:13)
Most of those that were with us on the earlier part of our journey are no longer travelling with us. Few have stopped travelling altogether. Others, although less in number than the pioneers, have joined us. These ones seem to stay longer but we still remember those from before with fondness.
10. From all the noise (3:28)
The journey has become quieter without us really noticing until now. There may be travellers still with us but there is less enthusiasm. We try to liven it up but consider it without merit after a short while. Now is the time to look back on where we have been. Has our journey taken in all the sights we wanted to see? are we content?
11. Why do you have to go so (3:21)
As time passes, loyal travellers finish their own journeys. Some announce it beforehand and some just suddenly leave. All journeys must come to an end and that can leave large growling holes in the lives of those still travelling. For them the journey must continue to it's own destination. Ultimately we will become a lost companion to those that travel beyond our destination. We have travelled far.
